About Spirited Xchange
Since 2001, each year, a new cask-strength collection of around eight to ten limited edition Special Releases from Diageo makes whisky headlines as a proven and revered set of releases that continues to be sought after. Usually a single malt, sometimes a single grain or a blended malt, each one introduces a world of flavor, rarity and desire beyond the everyday an opportunity to explore and enjoy the diversity of the Scotch Whisky world.
Chosen with immense care by some of the world’s finest whisky craftsmen and women from the world’s largest reserves of Single Malt Scotch Whisky. The Special Releases can include small offerings from fabled closed distilleries and supreme examples of the less well known, as well as unusual expressions of more familiar names, giving these distilleries opportunities to try something new or different from their trademark expressions.
Lagavulin Fireside Tales 12 Year Old Islay Single Malt
This is Lagavulin character made sweet under the command of active oak. Bold smoke quietened to a hush, matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon and refill casks for a lush and glazed aroma. A 12-year-old expression is experienced with thick toffee, vanilla, and coconut notes, unfurling with aromatic spice.
Oban Coastal Orchard 10 Year Old Single Malt
An exciting new expression of Oban that superbly takes the essential distillery character to a rendezvous with three special friends, fruitiness, spice and sheer brio.Imagine the humblest of seeds taking root deep within a coastal bay. A magnificent sea-sprayed orchard blooms, born of a tiny shell. With every tide’s fall a harmonious burst of flora ripples with warm waves of nectar, bathing the coast in aromatic bounty.
Talisker Tidal Churn 8 Year Old Single Malt
This 8-year-old expression plunges into an oceanic wilderness. A world of flavour lies beneath that signature maritime smoke. Underlying notes are unleashed by stone-spun casks. Like a tidal churn, the barrels’ original char layers are polished away by rocks and water, then lightly re-toasted. Fruity and vanilla characters rise up freely.
Roseisle Origami Kite II 12 Year Old Single Malt
From the cutting-edge Roseisle Distillery, this is their second ever expression. Roseisle's Malt Master evokes a sublime Single Malt Scotch Whisky that soars with profound flavor, building on the folds of a previous flight, born of seemingly simple elements.
Matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon and refill casks, rich flavors blossom with smooth creamy texture. Notes of ripe fruit and white chocolate lie beneath the sweet vanilla aroma. Nuanced spice balances warm complexity, ending with a long, rich finish.
