The Blade and Bow story began with the founding of the legendary Stitzel-Weller Distillery—the cathedral of bourbon—in 1935, a Louisville icon and home to the fathers of bourbon.
Named after the two parts of a skeleton key, the blade shaft and the ornate bow, the Blade and Bow brand is a tribute to the five keys that once hung on the door of the Stitzel-Weller Distillery. These keys represented the five steps of crafting bourbon—grains, yeast, fermentation, distillation and aging. But more importantly, they grew to symbolize the southern traditions of hospitality, warmth and enjoying the finer things in life.

The award winning Blade and Bow 22-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a limited and rare release whiskey that pays homage to the artful passion and renowned craftsmanship of the legendary Stitzel-Weller Distillery. A small amount of this whiskey is released each year from Stitzel-Weller, the historic distillery that now serves as the home to a number of high-quality whiskeys.

Blade and Bow proudly introduces its 30-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, the oldest expression ever released by the brand, representing a pinnacle of American whiskey craftsmanship. First laid to rest in the spring of 1993, this extraordinary bourbon spent three decades maturing in the legendary patented rickhouses of Stitzel-Weller Distillery before a meticulous post-maturation selection process, led by Nicole Austin, Director of American Whiskey Capabilities, who hand-selected the most exceptional barrels for this limited-edition expression.
