Get to know Astral

Astral Tequila is a new super-premium tequila crafted using 100% Blue Weber Agave nourished by the sun and stars in Jalisco, Mexico. Their agave grows under the hazy glow of the warm daylight and is tempered by cool and luminous night.

Traditional process

Astral's production process is steeped in tradition and features a unique milling process using a tahona, a stone wheel which crushes the juices from the agave fibers. Those crushed fibers, or bagazo, are then used in the fermentation process to make use of more of the agave plant. This technique embraces the true character and flavor of the agave to create a complex yet smooth tequila with notes of agave and bursts of citrus.

The adobe brick project

Astral's sustainability initiative

Astral upcycles their distillation waste into adobe bricks. Rather than dispose of their tequila production waste in landfills, they work with Green Loop who combines spent agave fibers (bagazo) with earth and liquid runoff from distillation (vinasa) to create Adobe bricks.

The wet molds of compost are then laid out in the sun to dry, yielding a brick that’s then used in construction.

Every bottle of Astral Tequila helps build homes in Jalisco, Mexico.
