Galentine's Day drinks and party tips
Here's our Galentine's Day party guide for you! Find special cocktail recipes, like an Espresso MartiNO, or the perfect pink Cosmopolitan. We also included hosting tips to show your friends your love.

It’s nearly Valentine’s Day - but, for some of us, Cupid can redirect that arrow elsewhere. Whether you’re focusing on yourself or you’ve been picking up the pieces of a heartbreak, fortunately there’s an anti-Valentine’s occasion that everyone can enjoy.
What is Galentine’s Day and when did it start?
Galentine’s Day is a celebration of friendship that takes place on February 13, the day before Valentine’s. So gather your friends because this occasion is all about ladies celebrating ladies! If you’re thinking of hosting your own Galentine’s Day celebrations, there’s usually two distinct routes to take.
For the burnt-by-love, there’s the Anti-Valentine’s drinks and themed snacks. Think dark and stormy cocktails - like, well, a Dark and Stormy - to heart-shaped pizza slices cut in half, you can really have fun with the theme.

The Ultimate Cosmopolitan
When it comes to whipping up some playful pink cocktails, the most obvious choice is a Cosmopolitan.

Themed decorations
Showing love to your friends? Decorating your space with heart decorations, flower arrangements, and hints of pink and red will work well to help set the mood for your love-themed event.
If you want to keep the love motifs to a minimum, how about opting for florals? Flowers aren’t necessarily just a romantic gesture. They’re fragrant, they’re feel-good and they represent growth.
Look for interesting color combinations - mixing the classic white of a lily with more unusual and vivacious florals. And if you really feel like committing to an anti-Valentine’s theme, there are some gorgeous gothics to add to any bouquet. Black poppies and a ‘Queen of the Night’ tulip bring the dark drama.

Tablescape
Anyone who knows anything about hosting knows that tablescaping has been the trend of the past few months. A simple look on Instagram or Pinterest and there are elaborately decorated dinner tables which serve up a bigger feast for the senses than what’s on the menu.
Tablescaping is simply elevating the art of setting your table. It gives you more chance to be playful and creative, with increasingly elaborate ideas tying together colour schemes, motifs, and accessories such as napkins, candles and vases.
Your tablescape doesn’t have to be expensive or overly time-consuming, it just gives you an opportunity to exaggerate the theme of the evening.

Create the vibe

Batch your cocktails
A rum punch, which serves four, is a masterful centrepiece for any floral inspired tablescape and will keep the drinks flowing.

Set some goals
Give Galentine’s some depth by making it a mission statement for your year ahead. Whether you manifest a new relationship for yourself or you all plan to challenge yourselves in your personal lives and careers, Galentine’s is reason enough to dream big.
An Espresso MartiNO is the mocktail that’ll give you all the motivation to make some plans.

Have fun!
You’ve come together and planned your soaring futures. Now, it’s time to let your hair down.
Galentine’s is an unapologetic celebration of friendship. So why not live it up like you did way before you worried yourselves about relationship dramas and other heartbreaks? Have a sleepover. Make prank calls. Watch a classic from your childhood. Eat all the candy you convince yourself you’re too grown up for these days.
Growing down has never failed to lift someone up.
