Tequila Recipe
Classic Paloma
A refreshing-tasting, sweet and sour cocktail with tequila, grapefruit, lime and club soda.

A favorite in Mexico, the paloma is a light, effervescent and tangy drink, perfect to show off a tequila. Though there are variations, two elements are essential in any paloma: top-shelf tequila and grapefruit. Read on to find out how to make your own classic paloma.
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz. Don Julio Blanco
- 1 oz. Fresh Grapefruit Juice
- 0.75 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
- 0.75 oz. Sugar Syrup
- Soda Water to top
- Grapefruit Wedge to garnish
Directions
- Combine tequila, grapefruit juice, simple syrup and lime juice in a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Shake and strain into a highball or Collins glass with ice.
- Top with club soda and garnish with a lime wedge or grapefruit wheel.

Simple Syrup
Ingredients
- 8 oz. Granulated Sugar
- 8 oz. Water
Directions
- In a medium size pot, heat the sugar and water for 15-20 minutes on a low simmer until the sugar is dissolved, stirring occasionally to prevent caking.
- Once sugar is dissolved, remove from heat.
- Pour into a container for storage, and label, date and refrigerate for later use. Good for 3 months. Yields 14 oz. of simple syrup.
