Puesta de sol
Although less well-known than its sunrise cousin, this refreshing-tasting cocktail is perfect for sipping as you watch the sun sink beneath the horizon.

A tequila sunset with Don Julio
Puesta de sol (or puesta del sol) means “sunset” in Spanish, and this sunset drink is a great accompaniment to the Tequila Sunrise. Our Puesta de Sol recipe, inspired by Don Julio, is made from orange juice, turmeric and blanco tequila, garnished with a slice of orange.
True to its name, the orange and reddish hue creates the Puesta de Sol’s signature look, that of a beautiful sunset. In this article, we’ll explore the ins and outs of the Tequila Sunset, a.k.a. the Puesta de Sol cocktail.

What does a Puesta de Sol taste like?
While you could use any tequila, we recommend Don Julio Reposado Tequila for its smooth and clean taste, perfect for mixing in cocktails. Orange juice gives the Puesta de Sol a tangy, slightly sweet flavor. Turmeric gives the cocktail a spicy kick, balanced out by the refreshing orange blossom water.
