Zacapa XO
A unique balance of complex aromas and flavors resulting from the exclusive blend of reserve rums. Older and younger rums are then blended as they age in a sequence of barrels that previously stored robust American whiskeys, delicate Sherries, fine Pedro Ximénez wines and finished in French oak casks which previously aged Cognac. Zacapa XO is best enjoyed neat or on the rocks and pairs beautifully with dark chocolate and desserts.
Lorena Vasquez, Master Blender of Zacapa Rum
Holding the title of Master Blender for over 35 years, Lorena Vasquez was the first female to take on the title at Zacapa. She began her career in quality control and honed in on the technical aspects of creating Zacapa's signature flavors. Lorena Vasquez is largely credited with making Zacapa the premium spirit is it today.
Zacapa Old Fashioned
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz. Zacapa No. 23 Rum
- 0.25 oz. Simple Syrup
- 1 dash Aromatic Bitters
- 1 dash Chocolate Bitters
- Grapefruit Peel, for garnish
- Dark Chocolate, for garnish
Instructions
1. Combine Zacapa Rum, simple syrup and bitters into a mixing glass with ice.
2. Stir well and strain into a double old fashioned glass.
3. Express grapefruit peel over drink and grate dark chocolate over cocktail.
